United boss Louis van Gaal is thought to have sanctioned a £17.5m bid for the Argentina international last month, which was swiftly rebuffed by the Capital outfit.

However, The Sun claims that Lazio skipper Biglia has hinted he is open to the prospect of plying his trade in the Premier League with the Red Devils.

Biglia has been capped 34 times by Argentina.
