Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic is reportedly on the verge of sealing a summer switch to Real Madrid.
The Croatian international had been heavily linked with a switch to Liverpool earlier this summer.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Los Blancos have made a &pound21.3m bid for the 21-year-old playmaker.
It is thought that the Reds cooled down their interest in Kovacic following the arrival of Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim.
Kovacic scored eight goals in 44 outings for the Nerazzurri last season.
