Stuttgart want Podolski

07 January 2008 - 17:38

VfB Stuttgart are chasing German international striker Lukas Podolski. The ex-Koln striker has become unhappy at his lack of playing opportunity at the Allianz Arena and had been linked with a move to Man City.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • VfB Stuttgart have complained that “the topic is being blown completely out of proportion,” but the fact remains that they are monitoring the situation of Lukas Podolski at rivals Bayern Munich.

The German international has barely featured in Ottmar Hitzfeld’s starting XI at the Allianz Arena this season, finding himself behind Miroslav Klose and Luca Toni.

With Euro 2008 coming up, the striker is desperate to secure regular first team action to impress national boss Joachim Loew and bag himself a spot in Germany’s starting line-up.
