Bournemouth boss rejects Defoe link

Eddie Howe rules out Defoe move

Bournemouth boss rejects Defoe link

20 August 2015 - 16:33

Bournemouth manager Eddie how has revealed that the club are not interest in a summer deal for Sunderland striker Jermaine Defoe.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • It had been earlier speculated that the England international was keen on a switch back to the Cherries, where he had a successful loan spell during the 2000/01 campaign.

However, Howe has dismissed the speculation insisting that the talented marksman is not on the club's radar.

"I like Jermain and have done since he did so well for this football club, but there's no truth in that link," he told reporters.

Defoe joined the Black Cats on a three-and-a-half year deal from Toronto FC in January.
