Sunderland are hopeful of landing the services of Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman on a season long-loan.

The Netherlands international impressed during his two-year loan spell at Swansea City between 2012 and 2014.

According to The Mail, the Black Cats are waiting on a positive decision regarding De Guzman proposed loan on Friday.

It is also thought the club may add a clause which could allow them to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent deal at the end of the 2015/16 season.
