West Bromwich Albion defender Joleon Lescott is closing in on a move to Aston Villa, according to reports.

The England international joined the Baggies from Manchester City last summer, but struggled to find a regular place in the first-team following Tony Pulis' arrival.

According to The Telegraph, the Villains are confident of sealing a &pound1.5m deal for the talented central defender before next week's transfer deadline.

However, it is thought that the Baggies will only allow Lescott's sale, should they find a suitable replacement.
