Manchester United are hopeful that midfielder Michael Carrick will be fit in time for Saturday's derby against Liverpool.
The midfield enforcer pulled out of England's squad for the European qualifiers on Monday due to a minor thigh strain.
A report from The Express now claims that the 34-year-old could take some part in his club's next encounter at Old Trafford.
It is also understood that Carrick has returned to United's Carrington base to undergo treatment to his injured thigh.
Carrick has featured in all of United's games this season.
