Chelsea will reportedly seek to land the services of young midfielder Marko Grujic in January, and loan him back to Red Star Belgrade for the season.
The 19-year-old has caught interest from the likes of Chelsea, and Manchester United in recent weeks.
A report from The Guardian now understands that the Blues are likely to trump United in the pursuit of the talented enforcer, who has been dubbed as the ' next Nemanja Matic'.
It is added that the club will follow their policy of developing youth talent, and send the player back to his club on a temporary basis for the rest of the campaign.
