Real Madrid are still exploring a deal for Manchester United star David de Gea, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.
The 24-year-old was close to joining the Bernabeu side over the summer, but the move failed as the relevant paperwork was not filed before the transfer deadline.
De Gea has since then taken a major u-turn and signed a new four-year contract at Old Trafford.
However, Balague feels that the La Liga giants have not dropped their interest in the Spain international in spite of Keylor Navas' excellent form this season.
"De Gea fits the business plan of having a superstar in goal instead of Keylor Navas who is very good. So I wouldn't be surprised if they go back for De Gea." he said in a Twitter Q&A session with Sky Sports.
