Newcastle United are reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni to put a stop to their ongoing goalkeeping crisis.
The Magpies currently have the likes of Tim Krul, Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow sidelined through injuries.
As a result, Steve McClaren's side would have to completely depend on 18-year-old Freddie Woodman, who has yet to make a senior appearance.
According to The Newcastle Chronicle, the Tyneside outfit are most likely to be offered an emergency window to sign a new shot-stopper.
It is added that they have made Speroni their prime target to fill the void in goal.
Eagles boss Alan Pardew is known to be eager to keep hold of the 36-year-old in spite of having Wayne Hennessey and Alex McCarthy in his ranks.
