Italian side Lazio are expected to launch a fresh move for defender Ron Vlaar, according to reports.

The Netherlands international left Aston Villa over the summer, but he was not able to find a new club after he suffered a serious a knee injury.

Vlaar has since then been training with former club AZ Alkmaar with a view to being fit by the New Year.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Capital outfit are eager to land the services of Vlaar in January following reports that star player Stefan di Vrij would require a knee surgery.
