Former Italy international Andrea Pirlo has been linked with a loan return to Inter Milan during the MLS off-season.
The experienced midfielder joined MLS side New York City from Juventus in July.
Pirlo, is known to be a fan favourite at the San Siro, having previously plyed his trade for both Inter and AC Milan during a trophy-laden career.
According to The Mirror, Roberto Mancini is keen on acquiring the services of Pirlo on a short-term deal as he seeks to provide his side with an experienced head in the second half of the league campaign.
Inter are currently second in the league standings behind Fiorentina on virtue of goal difference.
