Stoke City have confirmed that striker Jonathan Walters has penned a new deal to keep him at the club until the summer of 2018.
The Republic of Ireland international was rumoured to be considering a potential exit in the New Year after manager Mark Hughes recruited the likes of Ibrahim Afellay and Xherdan Shaqiri over the summer.
However, the Potters have confirmed via their twitter account that the 32-year-old has committed his future to the club on a new two-and-a-half year contract.
"#scfc are delighted to reveal @JonWalters19 has signed a new 2-and-a-half year contract, committing him to the club until the summer of 2018" the tweet read.
Walters has made over 200 appearances for Stoke City following his switch from Ipswich Town in 2010.
