The Spanish champions were expected to take a note of Vardy's performance during England's friendly versus Spain before he was ruled out with a minor niggle.

According to The Mail, Barcelona are the latest side to be linked with the player's signature following his impressive start that has seen him notch 12 goals in as many league games this season.

It is added that the Catalan giants intended to assess the player's showing against Spain on Friday, but he was withdrawn from the fixture through a groin problem.

Real Madrid are also known to be monitoring the proceedings.
