Porto striker Helder Postiga has joined Panathinaikos. The ex-Tottenham and Portuguese international striker has joined on an initial six month loan to help him play international football this summer.

The player himself wanted to move clubs in order to improve his chances of appearing for Portugal at Euro 2008.



Panathinaikos’ coach is Portuguese, Jose Peseiro, and the tactician pushed for his countryman to join during the January transfer window.



Postiga has only played ten times this season for Porto.
