Newcastle United are to sell Fabricio Coloccini in the transfer window, with Villarreal ready to bid 5 million euros for the Argentine defender. Coloccini has had a miserable season with the Toon Army so far.
The normally reliable centre back has said that he wants to relocate his family to a Spanish speaking country and Villarreal remain the favourites to sign the defender. Sevilla had also been in the running but apparently dropped out of the transfer race last month after watching a couple of woeful performances from the defender. Boss Steve McLaren has decided that the player can be sold if a bidder matches the club's top valuation.
