Jose Mourinho felt betrayed by Chelsea loss

Mourinho blames players for loss

Jose Mourinho felt 'betrayed' by Chelsea loss

15 December 2015 - 04:49

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he feels a sense of betrayal after some of his players failed to execute the gameplan at Leicester City.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Blues suffered yet another blow to their dismal league campaign after they were humbled by a 2-1 scoreline at the King Power Stadium.

The defeat sees the Blues sit 16th, just a point above the drop zone, while Leicester City move back to the top of the summit.

Mourinho now feels some of his players were not up to the mark against the Foxes in spite of impressing in training.

"[Leicester's] two goals are a very big frustration to accept because it's like I feel that my work was betrayed," he told Sky Sports News after the game.

"It's difficult for us to score goals when you have some players that are not at the best level. It's obvious and everybody knows that. "

"Day by day in training, I have no complaints with the players. If I look to some matches, I feel frustrated with the difference between what they do in training and what they do in matches."

The Premier League holders host fellow strugglers Sunderland in their next league encounter this weekend.
