Manchester United could get their hands on one of Europe's top midfielders this winter.
German international Toni Kroos was deemed to have agreed a deal in principle with United before opting to join Real Madrid last year.
The Mirror says the former Bayern Munich star has told his agent to find him a new club in the New Year after he was left out of his side's 1-0 defeat at Villareal.
It is also known that he was the only member of Real's first-team squad to miss out on the annual Christmas dinner on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, Kroos has made 13 league appearances for the Capital outfit this season.
