Jurgen Klopp is closing in on his first signing as Liverpool manager, The Guardian reports.
The German head coach had recently suggested that he would give ample time to his existing players before moving into the transfer market.
However, Guardian says the Reds have been closely monitoring the progress of Red Star Belgrade youngster Marko Grujic, and look set to acquire his services in early 2016.
It is also known that Klopp had a big role to play in the club's pursuit of the 19-year-old midfielder.
Grujic was part of the Serbian side that won the FIFA under-20 World Cup in New Zealand earlier this year.
