Liverpool look set to pursue the services of Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato this winter.
Pato has spent the past two seasons on loan at Sao Paolo where he has developed his game.
The Brazil international is thought to be on the Reds' radar in recent months after he revealed his desire to make a return to Europe.
According to The Express, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is sent to give the green light to land Pato's signature during the January transfer window.
It is added that the German head coach wants the striker to provide stiff competition to Christian Benteke, who has struggled to adapt to the club's style of play.
Pato is currently rated at around £11m.
