Liverpool are set to offer stiff competition to Fiorentina in the pursuit of highly-rated Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet.
The 21-year-old has been tipped to seek a fresh challenge away from his hometown club this winter.
Serie A side Fiorentina are understood to have held talks with Anderlecht over a proposed move for the young attacker, but according to The Mirror, the Reds are ready to offer some fight in the chase for the Belgian international.
It is added that the Merseyside giants are willing to match Anderlecht's asking price of £22.5m to bring the midfield sensation to Anfield.
Should Praet join the Reds this month, he would be lining up with fellow national compatriots Simon Mignolet, Divock Origi and Christian Benteke.
