Manchester United and Chelsea could reportedly battle it out for the services of Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.
The World Cup winner has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu having failed to settle to life in the Spanish capital.
Spanish source Fichajes claims that the Red Devils and Blues have held negotiations with the player's agent regarding a potential winter deal.
It is added that the German international may re-consider his position at Los Blancos following the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the new head coach.
Kroos is currently rated at around £40m.
