Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club have wrapped up a winter deal for Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
The Egyptian international was said to have passed a medical and agreed on personal terms over a £5m move to the Emirates.
However, a work permit had restricted the Gunners from making an official confirmation on the player\'s transfer.
Following the 3-3 draw at Liverpool, Wenger revealed that the player had linked up with the FA Cup holders, and could be in line to feature against Stoke City on Sunday.
\"He has joined us and we will see if he can qualify for Sunday.\" he told reporters.
Elneny had scored four goals in 20 appearances for Basel during the first half of the season.
