Manchester United could relieve manager Louis van Gaal from his duties, should his side fail to achieve a positive result at Liverpool this weekend.
The Red Devils have had a lean spell in the Premier League, and this has raised questions marks over Van Gaal's future at the club.
According to The Times, the 64-year-old could get the sack, if United lose to Liverpool in Sunday's league fixture at Anfield.
Adding to this, the club's hierarchy are worried that any further dip in form may affect their chase for a top-four finish this season.
United have a solitary win in their last eight league games.
