The Tunisia international made the move to Los Che over the summer following an impressive year with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

However, he has since then struggled to adapt to the Spanish game, and was recently omitted out of match day squad to face Rayo Vallecano.

According to The Star, the Blues are expected to bring in at least three players before the transfer deadline.

The report adds that the West London side have earmarked 26-year-old Abdennour as an ideal player to fit their defensive setup.

Abdennour has earned 44 caps with his national side.
