Arsene Wenger has admitted that he nearly signed David Beckham while the midfielder was having a torrid time in Real Madrid. The midfielder is currently training with the Gunners whilst LA Galaxy are on their break.
Wenger told the Daily Express: "David almost came to Arsenal a couple of years ago when things did not go too well during his first season with Real.
"I even met the people who took care of his career, but in the end, David decided to remain at Real."
Beckham is currently training with the Gunners in a bid to step up his fitness.
