Stoke City have reportedly lodged a winter offer for unsettled Porto midfielder Gianelli Imbula.

The French midfielder joined the Primeira Liga giants from Marseille during the summer transfer window.

However, he has since then struggled to adapt to his club's style of play, and currently finds himself warming the substitutes' bench.

A report from The Mirror claims that the Potters have made a club-record bid of around &pound19m to bring the 23-year-old to the Britannia Stadium this month.

Mark Hughes' side are currently seventh in the Premier League, six points adrift off the Champions League places.
