England international Andros Townsend has joined Newcastle United for a reported fee of around £12m.
The 24-year-old had been tipped to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month, having failed to earn sufficient league action under Mauricio Pochettino.
It is now confirmed that the talented winger has inked a five-and-a-half year deal at Tyneside, and could be in line for his debut against Everton on February 3.
"He is a very good talent who is a current England international and should be one for years to come, too. He feels he has a lot to prove and I can't wait to see him do that in a Newcastle shirt." Magpies boss Steve McClaren told the club's official website.
Townsend is the club's third signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of Henri Saivet and Jonjo Shelvey from Bordeaux and Swansea City respectively.
