Lavezzi to join Shanghai Shenhua

08 February 2016 - 06:27

Chelsea target and Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequeil Lavezzi is close to completing a move to Chinese Super League with Shanghai Shenhua.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Gabriel Magalhaes to sign new Arsenal deal

  • The 30-year-old had attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and Inter Milan last month, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

However, it is now widely reported that the Argentina international has opted for a move to the Far East with Shanghai.

Lavezzi is the latest high-profile player to ply his trade in China, following in the footsteps of Ramires, Alex Teixeira and Jackson Martinez.

The experienced forward struggled to firm a regular starting place at Les Parisiens this season, and was often called upon from the substitutes' bench.
