Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik had neglected the chance to play in the Chinese Super League, agent Juraj Venglos reveals.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The Slovakian international has been ever-present in the Naples outfit, who are challenging for the Serie A title this season.

China has made the big news this winter with several European players including Jackson Martinez, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Alex Teixeira having agreed to ply their trade in the Far East.

Venglos has now disclosed that his client had rebuffed several offers from the lucrative league as his main focus is on winning the league with the Naples outfit.

"Hamsik received several big offers from a few Chinese clubs, but he didn't even consider them," he told Slovak Radio.

"He is focused purely on Napoli and winning the league title with the team. It's normal for a player of his calibre to attract interest from China and so it's no surprise they tried to convince him."

Hamsik has made over 375 appearances for his club till date.
