Chelsea will reportedly step up their interest in Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, should Diego Costa seek a potential move back to his homeland.

Spain international Costa has been in fine form for the Premier League holders since the arrival of interim boss Guus Hiddink.

However, his future still remains in the balance with former club Atletico Madrid said to keen on acquiring his services.

According to The Mirror, the Blues will reignite their pursuit for Icardi, if Costa decides to make a return to the Spanish capital.

Costa has notched 10 goals and six assists since the turn of the year.
