Berardi could leave Sassuolo with Premier League clubs interested

08 March 2016 - 16:46

Domenico Berardi has been attracting interest from several clubs around Europe with his performances this season. Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali admits that the club will listen to offers for the talented forward this summer.

  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The 21-year-old Italian has been impressive for the Neroverdi this term, netting six goals in 20 Serie A appearances. Juventus and Inter hold a strong interest in Berardi, while Manchester United are known to have scouted the player recently.

The Italy under-21 international has been at Sassuolo since his teens, however, Juventus held co-ownership of Berardi up until last summer. It is believed that Juventus have a "gentleman's agreement" to buy the player outright this summer, but Carnevali insisted that the club will consider offers from elsewhere.

“We have excellent relations with Juve,” Carnevali said in an interview with SportMediaset.

“But in the end everyone must look after their own interests. Berardi is completely owned by Sassuolo, there’s an option for Juventus but we’ll sort that out later.

“We’re not taking any bids yet, we’ll evaluate things based on offers. There’s an established figure of €25m but nothing is decided, Juve would also have to match a bigger bid if it arrived.
