Man Utd contact Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester United have reportedly made initial contact with Zlatan Ibrahimovic ahead of a proposed free transfer to the club. The Sweden international is expected to have showdown talks with Paris Saint-Germain next month with his existing deal due to expire at the end of the season.

The 35-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League following suggestions that he may opt against a new deal at Parc des Princes.

French daily L'Equipe claims that the Red Devils have stolen the march on league rivals Chelsea, and are set to offer a one-year contract to the veteran striker.

However, the contract is likely to be put on hold with Ibra willing to discuss the possibility of an extension at the French capital.

Ibrahimovic has been in impressive form in Ligue 1 this term, netting 27 goals in just 24 games.
