Liverpool are seemingly confident of wrapping up a summer deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze. The German international has had a dismal spell with the Bavarian giants this season, and this has led to suggestions that he could seek fresh pastures in the summer.
Gotze has struggled to nail a regular role under Pep Guardiola this term, partly due to his ongoing injury troubles.
Widespread sources reveal that the 23-year-old is likely to favour a switch to Anfield this summer due to his strong relationship with manager Jurgen Klopp.
The young attacker worked alongside Klopp at Borussia Dortmund before linking up with Bayern in 2013.
Gotze, who is currently valued at £40m, has made just five league starts for his club this term.
