Southampton have made Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain their prime target for the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old joined the Gunners from the Saints in 2011, and many expected him to be the next big thing in English football.

  • However, he has since then struggled to live up to his promise, and currently finds himself playing a bit-part role at the Emirates.

According to The Mirror, the Saints are keen on re-signing the England international with manager Ronald Koeman said to be a huge fan of the player.

Adding to this, the South Coast outfit are willing to make 'The Ox' their highest-paid player and vice-captain of the team.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently recovering from a groin injury.
