Saints eager to re-sign Oxlade-Chamberlain

Southampton have made Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain their prime target for the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old joined the Gunners from the Saints in 2011, and many expected him to be the next big thing in English football.

However, he has since then struggled to live up to his promise, and currently finds himself playing a bit-part role at the Emirates.

According to The Mirror, the Saints are keen on re-signing the England international with manager Ronald Koeman said to be a huge fan of the player.

Adding to this, the South Coast outfit are willing to make 'The Ox' their highest-paid player and vice-captain of the team.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently recovering from a groin injury.
