FA Cup success not enough for Van Gaal

Van Gaal set to leave United this summer

FA Cup success not enough for Van Gaal

Manchester United are set to replace Louis van Gaal with Jose Mourinho even if they attain FA Cup success this season.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • The Dutchman had been heavily criticised for his boring football at the start of the campaign, and this led to suggestions that he could be replaced with 'the Special One' after the turn of the year.

However, the Mancunian giants stood with the experienced head coach, and this has paid dividends with an improved run of form in recent months.

Widespread sources now reveal that the club's hierarchy are likely to part ways with the 64-year-old regardless of whether they win the FA Cup this term.

Mourinho has been earmarked as the ideal replacement with rumours suggesting that he may have penned a pre-contract with the Old Trafford side.
