Manchester City are set to rival the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid in the pursuit of Benfica youngster Renato Sanches. The 18-year-old has emerged as a top player for the Primeira Liga side since his first-team debut last year.
It had been previous reported that United were favourites to land the player after they reached a verbal agreement with Benfica to match the player's &pound35 escape clause.
However, according to The Times, arch-rivals City are also keen on the young playmaker, and it could come to whom Sanches wants to play for ahead of the 2016/17 season.
Sanches has featured in 21 league games for Benfica this season.
