Outgoing Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has emerged as a surprise candidate to replace Roberto Martinez at Everton next season.
Martinez is likely to be relieved from his duties over the summer following the club's dismal campaign in the Premier League.
Recent speculation had suggested that former boss David Moyes could put his name up for the head coach role, but according to The Mail, Pellegrini is open to the thought of making a move west with the Toffees.
Everton have had a season to forget in the top flight, and are currently placed 12th with just 44 points.
