Manchester United and Manchester City are set to go on a transfer tussle to land Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos this summer. The German international is said to be frustrated with life in the Spanish capital.
Kroos, 26, came close to joining United from Bayern Munich in 2014, before manager Louis van Gaal vetoed the deal, thereby luring the player to join Real Madrid.
Since then, the World Cup winner has played a regular part in Los Blancos' setup, but the failure to adapt to the country's lifestyle has got him thinking about his future.
According to The Mirror, the player's availability has apparently caught the eye of United and City, who are looking to bring fresh recruits in the summer.
United could renew their interest on a player they nearly signed few seasons ago, whilst incoming City boss Pep Guardiola is keen on a reunion with his former Bayern Munich midfielder.
Kroos is currently valued in excess of £25m.
