Chelsea have emerged as front-runners to sign former player and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian international is likely to leave the Toffees in the summer after their dismal showing in the top flight last season.

Lukaku, 23, has been the subject of speculation over the past month with the likes of Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Juventus said to be vying for his services.

Belgian source DH says the player has already identified his next destination, and the move could well be finalized ahead of this summer's European championships.

"I keep it for me. A lot of clubs are interested, some of which are already very concrete for five years," he was quoted as saying by DH

Lukaku is said to have held secret talks with former club Chelsea, but the decision over his move will be kept on hold until new boss Antonio Conte makes his verdict.
