The 27-year-old is currently weighing up his options having fallen out-of-favour at the Blues during the second half of last season.

According to The Mail, the Serbian would consider the prospect of joining his former boss at Old Trafford in a bid to acquire regular first-team football next season.

Matic returned for a second stint at Stamford Bridge in January 2014 having previously played for them before joining Benfica in 2011.

The midfielder has racked over 100 appearances for the West London giants till date.
