Real Madrid leading Lewandowski chase

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is said to be a summer transfer target for Spanish giants Real Madrid and talks between the Polish striker's representatives and the Madrid club may have already taken place.

  • Lewandowski’s advisor Cezary Kucharski said: “Real Madrid approached a few weeks ago to us, we have listened them. It’s a big, exciting club. We Bayern informed that we have held talks with Madrid.”

    The former Lech Poznan front man has been the subject of an approach from Los Blancos who want to increase their firepower to challenge for La Liga next season after missing out on the final day to rivals Barcelona.

    Champions League finalists Madrid are hoping that after his six years in Germany and winning everything domestically the Polish international would be ready to move to the Spanish capital for a new challenge.

    Warsaw born Lewandowski scored 42 goals for Bayern this season, 30 of those coming in the Bundesliga is said to be ready to leave Germany and is hoping that a good performance in the Euro’s will out him top of the big clubs shopping list.

    The former Dortmund forward who scored 103 goals in 187 appearances for Die Borussen is currently with the Poland national squad preparing for the European Championships.
