Villareal centre-back Eric Bailly has had a successful medical ahead of his £30m move to Manchester United. The Ivory Coast international will be Jose Mourinho's first signing at Old Trafford.

Bailly, 22, had a fine debut campaign with the Yellow Submarines as they finished fourth in Liga, guaranteeing their participation in next season's Champions League.

According to Sky Sports News, the player has undergone a series of medical tests just days after United triggered the &pound30m release contract in his Villareal contract.

An announcement is likely to be made on the transfer once the Ivorian inks his signature on a long-term contract at Old Trafford.

Bailly appeared in 35 games for the Spanish outfit during the recently concluded season.
