England fan arrested after Marseille brawl

England fans will have to behave if they are to progress

England fan arrested after Marseille brawl

10 June 2016 - 13:37

As England opening match of Euro 2016 gets ever closer, it seems that an England fan has been arrested by French police after a brawl outside a pub.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Spurs, Gilchrist starts
  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • This could be the first of many brawls this summer as fans, high on victory or intoxicated on alcohol, do something that will end up with them in trouble. As much as the Euro’s should be celebrated fans need to be careful about their drunken behaviour. Security will be higher than ever after the tragic attacks in Paris, and any sort of trouble will be taken extremely seriously.  Fans who have gone to France are encouraged to enjoy the occasion, but also act in a respectable manner while there.

People at the pub however have declared in a statement that the media have overreacted. This wouldn’t be the first time that England’s media have overreacted. At the 2006 world cup the English media were completely obsessed by both England off the field antics, and the players WAGS. This affected the player’s performance and they ultimately endured a disappointing tournament.

One things for sure, if England are going to do well this summer they will need the support from both the media and the fans.
