Leicester City send scouts to watch Zaza

Leicester City tracking Juventus striker Zaza

Leicester City have deployed scouts to run the rule over Italian striker Simone Zaza at Euro 2016, according to reports in Italy.

  • Dutch star undergoing his medical at Chelsea
  • Chelsea poised to make bid for Man Utd winger

  • Tuttomercatoweb are reporting that the Premier League champions will have their scouts analysing the Juventus striker during Italy's final group E fixture against the Republic of Ireland in Lille on Wednesday night.

Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg are also believed to be interested in the former Sampdoria player and they too will be monitoring him in Lille.

Zaza has expressed his desire to remain with the Italian champions, though he has admitted that he is not entirely satisfied with the amount of playing time he has gotten since signing from Sassuolo last summer.

Leicester's interest in Zaza could be dependant of whether they are able to hold on to star striker Jamie Vardy amid interest from Arsenal, as well as whether Foxes are successful in their attempts to sign Watford striker Troy Deeney.

As previously outlined by Eye Football, Vardy is leaning towards remaining at the King Power Stadium, despite the Gunners matching his contractual release clause with a £20 million bid earlier this month.

And although Leicester had been knocked back in their initial attempt to land Deeney, with Watford rejecting an offer in excess of £20 million for the powerful striker, it is believed that the title-winners are willing to up their bid to £30 million, as they strengthen their squad ahead of next season's Champions League participation.
