The Express says the attacker has agreed a three-year deal with the Etihad outfit, and the move will go through once City finalize a transfer sum of around &pound14m for his services.

Nolito was part of the reserve squad during Pep Guardiola's managerial reign at Barcelona.

The Spaniard had caught the eye of former club Barca earlier this year before a disagreement over a transfer price put a dead end to the deal.

The 29-year-old has netted five goals in 12 outings for his national side.
