Chelsea are in pole position to sign Alvaro Morata in the upcoming transfer window. The Spanish striker will be returning to the Bernabeu this summer after Real Madrid activated the buy-back option on his Juventus contract.
The European champions have re-signed their former player with a £23.4m buy-back clause placed during his sale to Juventus in 2014.
According to Spanish outlet AS, the Blues are leading the pursuit for the 23-year-old having lodged a £40m bid, within days of Real retaining their graduate.
Agent Juanma Lopez has also confirmed that Morata could be on the move amid interest from top Premier League clubs.
Morata is currently leading the line for Spain at the European championships in France.
