Liverpool are lining up a move for Serbian defender Neven Subotic after he expressed his desire to leave Borussia Dortmund. The Reds are on the look out for a new centre-back with Mamadou Sakho still in the dark over his drugs ban fate.

Subotic, 27, had been on the Reds radar over the winter period last term before BVB opted to keep hold of his services for the season.

According to The Mirror, manager Jurgen Klopp will look to revive the club's interest in the player, who fared well under his management at Dortmund.

Klopp was incharge of the Bundesliga outfit when Subotic joined from Mainz 05 in 2008.

Subotic has appeared in 258 games for BVB netting 18 goals in the process.
