Could Allen be set for Liverpool exit?

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen could be set for an Anfield exit this summer, with up to six clubs interested in the Welshman, according to reports.

  • The Telegraph are reporting today that Allen is attracting interest from as many of six different clubs from home and abroad.

Swansea City are believed to be interested in bringing the 26-year-old back to the Liberty Stadium this summer, after selling the player to Liverpool four years ago.

Southampton are also believed to hold an interest in signing Allen, as the south coast club look to rebuild after the loss of Sadio Mané and Victor Wanyama this summer, as well as manager Ronald Koeman's departure to Everton.

And, rather surprisingly, last season's Europa League winners Sevilla are thought to be considering a move for Allen. The Spanish club are renowned for being remarkably savvy when in comes to transfer dealings, with sporting director Monchi earning widespread acclaim for his ability to buy top players cheaply, and sell them on for huge profits.

The Telegraph also claims that a club from the Russian Premier League is interested in Allen.

So if Liverpool are looking to sell the 31-cap Wales international this summer, Allen will not be short of options.

Allen earned rave reviews for his performances with Wales at the UEFA European Championship in France this summer, helping the Dragons on their stunning run to the semi-final, before losing to Portugal.
